2 декабря, накануне воскресного дня, епископ Великоустюжский и Тотемский Фотий возглавил всенощное бдение и Таинство исповеди в Прокопьевском кафедральном соборе Великого Устюга.
Его Преосвященству сослужили священники Прокопьевского собора иерей Андрей Игнатьев и иерей Вячеслав Бураков.
На богослужении молились верующие городских приходов Великого Устюга, учащие и учащиеся воскресной школы Прокопьевского собора, воспитатели и воспитанники Великоустюгского центра помощи детям, оставшимся без попечения родителей.
Перед началом всенощного бдения состоялась Соборная (или общая исповедь).
Священник Прокопьевского собора иерей Вячеслав Бураков прочитал предначинательные молитвы — перед исповедью. Затем батюшка прочел молитву, в которой зачитывался подробный перечень грехов. В основном это те грехи, которые являются нарушением десяти заповедей Закона Божия, а также преступлением против любви к Богу и ближнему, которую Христос заповедал людям в Евангелии. Священник призывал всех пришедших на исповедь покаяться в этих грехах и просил Бога об их отпущении.
Владыка Фотий обратился с архипастырским словом к верующим, принявшим участие в соборной исповеди.
Богослужения в Прокопьевском соборе продолжились всенощным бдением.
Епископ Великоустюжский и Тотемский Фотий и и священник Прокопьевского собора иерей Вячеслав Бураков приняли Частную исповедь у пожелавших принять участие в Таинстве воспитанников воскресной школы, Великоустюгского центра помощи детям, оставшимся без попечения родителей и прихожан храма.
Песнопения всенощного бдения исполнил хор кафедрального собора под управлением регента Людмилы Фоминой.
Торжественную часть всенощного бдения – полиелей возглавил епископ Фотий. Владыка совершил каждение праздничной иконы Воскресения Христова, потом и всего храма. Затем был прочитан текст Евангельского повествования.
После чтения Евангелия владыка Фотий помазал священнослужителей и прихожан храма освященным елеем.
